Ingredients

For the Pretzel Crust
  • 2 cups crushed salted pretzels (coarsely crushed, not powdered)
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
For the Cream Cheese Layer
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping (or freshly whipped cream for a richer texture)
For the Strawberry Layer
  • 2 (3 oz) packages strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 3 cups fresh strawberries, sliced (or frozen thawed and drained if needed)

Method

  1. Prepare and bake the pretzel crust until lightly set and allow it to cool completely before layering.
  2. Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth, then fold in whipped topping for a light creamy texture.
  3. Spread cream mixture evenly over cooled crust, sealing edges to prevent leakage.
  4. Chill the cream layer briefly before preparing the gelatin mixture.
  5. Dissolve gelatin, cool it, and mix in sliced strawberries gently.
  6. Pour strawberry mixture over the cream layer carefully and refrigerate until fully set.
  7. Chill for several hours or overnight before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Always ensure each layer is fully cooled before adding the next to preserve clean separation and structure.
  • Use a sharp knife wiped between cuts to achieve bakery-style clean slices.
  • Seal the edges of the cream layer carefully to prevent soggy crust issues.
  • Allow full overnight chilling for the most stable and visually appealing results.
