  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Garlic Bread
  • 4 Italian rolls or hoagie buns, split
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Method

  2. Stir in crushed tomatoes, marinara, tomato paste, and seasonings; simmer until thickened.

Notes

  • Don’t overfill sandwiches to avoid sogginess.
  • Let sandwiches rest briefly before serving.
