Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Base
  • 2 (about 500–600g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
For the Creamy Texture
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
For the Dumplings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter (cold, cubed)
  • ½ cup milk

Method
 

  1. Add chicken, vegetables, broth, and seasonings to the crockpot and cook.
  2. Shred chicken and return to pot.
  3. Make roux and stir into a crockpot.
  4. Prepare dumpling dough.
  5. Drop dumplings into a crockpot and cook covered.
  6. Serve hot after checking seasoning.
