Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
  • 1 cup carrots diced
  • 1 cup peas fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup celery chopped
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Crust
  • 1 refrigerated pie crust top and bottom
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

Method
 

  1. Prepare and chop all ingredients
  2. Cook vegetables in butter until soft
  3. Add flour and cook briefly
  4. Stir in broth and milk until thickened
  5. Add chicken and seasoning
  6. Assemble pie with crust and filling
  7. Bake until golden and set

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken to save time
  • Let filling cool slightly before assembling
