Chocolate covered Oreos are one of the easiest gourmet treats you can make at home. You simply coat classic cookies in smooth melted chocolate and decorate them. They’re perfect for holidays, parties, edible gifts, or quick dessert platters.

Ingredients
  

Base Cookies
  • 24 Oreo cookies
Chocolate Coating
  • 12 oz chocolate chips semi-sweet
  • 6 oz white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
Decorative Toppings
  • 2 tablespoons holiday sprinkles
  • 2 tablespoons nuts crushed
  • 2 tablespoons candy canes crushed
  • 1 tablespoon flaky sea salt

Method
 

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange Oreo cookies in a single layer.
  2. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips in 20-second microwave intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Dip each Oreo into melted chocolate using a fork and tap to remove excess coating.
  4. Place coated cookies onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Add sprinkles or toppings while the chocolate is still wet.
  6. Melt white chocolate and drizzle over the cookies.
  7. Let cookies sit at room temperature for 30 minutes or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes.

Notes

  • Melt chocolate slowly to prevent burning.
  • Use a fork for smooth and even dipping.
  • Add decorations immediately after dipping.
  • Let cookies fully set before storing.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for better flavor.
